We hope you all enjoyed your time at our convention in LA. Sadhguru's opening talk was very well received. Below is a
personal message from Sadhguru, urging action to support the revitalization of river Cauvery -
www.CauveryCalling.org.
“For a few decades now, we have all been aware that our planet is heading towards an ecological crisis. In terms of soil
degradation and water crises, India is one of the worst affected regions – and the situation has turned critical in recent years.
With a population of over a billion to feed, and furthermore, given its standing as a breadbasket, this spells disaster not just
for India, but for the entire world. As a generation, we cannot stand by and watch this calamity unfolds. It is of utmost
importance that we unite to reverse this violence upon the planet.
The Rally for Rivers movement that we launched in 2017, which received the support of 162 million people, was a concerted
effort in this direction. As an offspring of that, this year will see resolute action on the ground. ‘Cauvery Calling’ is
a movement to revitalize the southern Indian river Cauvery, which has faced severe depletion of over 40% in the past
decades. In this momentous initiative, we intend to plant 2420 million trees in the river’s basin by reaching out to more
than 5 million farmers to make a shift from crop cultivation to perennial Agro-forestry.
Our undertaking is mammoth; to be truly effective we need the backing and contribution of responsible entities in the
international community. I urge you to join your might to this movement. Your support could not come at a more crucial
phase in this planet’s history.”
